The KARL MAYER Jacquard calendar for 2025 is dominated by ITMA ASIA + CITME in Singapore. The leading trade fair will take place from October 28 to 31 at the Singapore Expo site and is a highlight for companies in the textile industry in South and Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Visitors can expect not only a show full of innovations and inspiration for their business, but also a metropolis with iconic architecture. One of the best-known landmarks is the Marina Bay Sands building complex with the ArtScience Museum.
The Marina Bay Sands resort is located on the Marina South peninsula, which is situated between Marina Bay at the mouth of the Singapore River and the Straits of Singapore. The hotel complex was officially opened on June 23 and resides in a building of superlatives. The gigantic building complex covers an area of 20 hectares, has three hotel towers, each with 55 storeys, and offers space for 3,900 guests on a rooftop terrace that extends far beyond the high-rise towers to the left and right. The centerpiece of the 340 m long terrace is an infinity pool for swimming with a panoramic view.
The sophisticated resort also includes two floating pavilions and the ArtScience Museum, which is characterized by particularly avant-garde architecture with a building in the shape of a lotus blossom. The Chairman of Las Vegas Sands, Sheldon Adelson, described the futuristically designed building as “The Welcoming Hand of Singapore”. This is not without reason: the ArtScience Museum is supported by a round base from which ten finger-shaped extensions protrude. The fingers encompass various gallery spaces with skylights at the tips, which provide sustainable and natural lighting. The building has a total of 21 galleries on three floors. The total area is 4,600 m².
The ensemble of the Marina Bay Sands hotel building and ArtScience Museum was captured in lace in the 2025 KARL MAYER Jacquard calendar. As every year, the Albani Group was responsible for the design and production.
