Techtextil 2026 networking played a central role for Mayer & Cie. during the international textile trade fair in Frankfurt. The company used the event to strengthen global partnerships, discuss technical textile innovations, and showcase advanced circular knitting machine solutions for protective clothing and industrial textile applications. With representatives from Germany, Italy, and the United States attending key meetings, Mayer & Cie. reinforced its position as a leading textile machinery manufacturer focused on innovation, flexibility, and high-performance knitting technologies.
Mayer & Cie. looks back on two busy and intense days at Techtextil 2026. Mayer & Cie. small trade fair team—Xu Hongjie, the new owner of Mayer & Cie., and Oliver Bühler—took advantage of the international industry gathering in Frankfurt to meet many people in person. So many direct conversations in such a short time would hardly have been possible otherwise.
A dinner was arranged in a small group: with Frederico Savio from Savio Macchine, Mayer & Cie.’s long-standing representative in Italy, as well as Todd Bassett and Ian Mills, both from Fi-Tech, the U.S. sales representative for circular knitting machines “Made in Albstadt.”
During the day at the trade fair, three representatives of Germany’s long-established mechanical engineering sector met: Regina Brückner (Brückner), Janpeter Horn (August Herzog), and Xu Hongjie (Mayer & Cie.). In addition to industry topics, their exchange also focused on the work of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association, currently chaired by Janpeter Horn.

The thematic focus of the trade fair was on technical textiles, particularly for protective equipment. Knitted materials are used in a wide range of applications—for example, for underwear and base layers, as well as for protective textiles such as hoods and scarves. Depending on the yarn used, production takes place in very fine or coarser gauges. In both cases, Mayer & Cie. offers suitable solutions, for example for knitting aramid yarns, which are often used in protective clothing.
Another advantage of Mayer & Cie. machines: technical applications often require clearly defined performance parameters. A circular knitting machine with high variability enables knitters to implement different solution approaches for a given order.
