Lenzing AG has appointed Georg Kasperkovitz as Chief Operations Officer (COO), effective June 1, 2025. This appointment expands the company’s Managing Board to four members, alongside CEO Rohit Aggarwal, CFO Nico Reiner, and Chief Pulp and Technology Officer Christian Skilich.
Kasperkovitz brings over 15 years of international leadership experience, having held significant roles such as Business Unit CEO at Mondi plc, CEO of Rail Cargo Austria AG, and Partner at McKinsey & Company. He holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering from TU Vienna and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
In his new role, Kasperkovitz will oversee Lenzing’s global fiber production sites and lead the company’s performance program, focusing on operational cost excellence and transformation. This strategic move aims to enhance Lenzing’s competitiveness in the sustainable cellulose fiber market.
This leadership change follows the retirement of Chief Transformation Officer Walter Bickel at the end of March 2025. Under Bickel’s leadership, Lenzing achieved significant milestones in its performance program, including over €130 million in cost savings in 2024. The program continues to be a cornerstone of Lenzing’s strategy for long-term resilience and market agility.
