Denim, leather and performance: ACM and NextPrinting return to Denim Première Vision Milan

At Denim Première Vision (May 20-21), ACM and NextPrinting present an exploration of the expressive possibilities of denim through digital printing, material contrasts and advanced finishing techniques.

At the heart of NextPrinting’s offering is Double Match, a double-printing technology that allows different processes to be applied simultaneously on opposite sides of the fabric. The result is a material that changes perception depending on the point of view, generating a dynamic and unexpected visual dialogue. The integration of water-repellent finishes and contrasts between glossy and matte effects transforms the fabric into a narrative element capable of combining aesthetics and functionality, while opening up new creative avenues for designers and design studios.

Denim and Leather Hybrid Materials Gain Momentum

Experimentation around the Denim & Leather concept also continues through the interaction of hybrid materials and tactile contrasts. Following last season’s developments, which introduced denim-effect printed leather and cotton prints combined with laser-treated recycled leather powder flocking, the new proposal features denim-printed cotton canvases enhanced with striking leather-touch finishes, capable of altering both the visual and tactile perception of the fabric.

Important developments are also being introduced in the field of performance, where the meeting of digital printing and synthetic materials gives rise to TechDenim: a polyurethane membrane applied between printed recycled leather brings denim aesthetics into increasingly technical contexts, from outerwear to ski slopes.

In fact, Denim Première Vision marks the debut of a collaboration with Shaft Jeans, the premium Made in Italy denim label helmed by the Palchetti Tosi twins. Together, they have developed a technical fabric jumpsuit featuring a digital placement print that creates a striking trompe-l’oeil denim effect. While the garment perfectly mimics the look of traditional denim at first glance, it is actually crafted from a high-performance technical material. The fabric is a warp-knitted thermal textile, brushed on the inside with a bi-elastic, ultra-soft microfiber. The density of the brushed interior provides exceptional insulation and thermal comfort. Combining breathability, pilling resistance, and easy care, the fabric seamlessly bridges athletic functionality with classic denim style. The project was born from a desire to connect the worlds of sport and denim, serving as a perfect tribute to 2026, the year Italy hosted the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

Sustainable Denim Innovation Made in Italy

NextPrinting once again demonstrates how digital printing can be a versatile solution with low environmental impact and high aesthetic value, ranging from more traditional denim interpretations – made even more realistic through double printing – to technical and refined explorations, including this season’s standout printed needle-punched fabric.

Completing the garment design, ACM presents at the fair a selection of accessories dedicated to the denim world, designed to make each piece even more unique and recognizable. The contrast between genuine leather and regenerated materials meets vintage and worn treatments, while metallic inserts, prints, textures and embroidery explore new decorative combinations. Customized denim back patches thus become distinctive elements where craftsmanship and technology merge to define the identity of the garment.
