Being quiet is the motto for Trevira living trends 2007/08

The noticeable lack of decorative elements and the absence of superficial opulence exercise a soothing effect on the eye and spirit. There is a prevailing sense of high quality and discreet luxury. Designs appear completely relaxed, while any notion of blending a variety of different styles has been discarded, where at all possible. Colours attract with their restrained elegance, in close harmony with the puristic language of form. The deliberate reduction to the bare essentials produces a sense of balance, creating a total image that radiates perfect calm and an effect of timelessness.

Silver Shadows

An exciting interplay of light and shade reveals geometric shapes in numerous tones of grey that stand out against the colours. At some points a chink of light appears that reminds one of silver stripes, while a warm shade of red casts a veil over the aesthetic severity.

Colours

First impressions are that muted tones dominate the theme: white, every shade of grey and black, produce a clean, straight-lined effect. Strength and warmth come from the one added colour, red, in a variey of tones reminiscent of fire, earth and wine.

Designs / fabrics

Form is severely reduced, as graphic design imposes its rigour on the images. Ornaments have a striking, two-dimensional impact, as if cut out by sheers. Small patterns and delicate stripes provide a classic touch. There is a note of refinement to the fabrics, which may be strong in structure, yet at the same time have an elegant sheen.

Naturally Nordic

The natural look is revealed at its most graceful. The purism of Scandinavian design and the vitality of natural woods produce an impression of balance that recalls wickerwork, light wood and midsummer nights.

Colours

The range of colours seem almost monochrome in effect. Whether cream white, pale beige, ochre, light chocolate brown or linen grey, the warm tones of wood and earth emerge in complete harmony, creating an impression of total charm.

Designs / fabrics

Designs are plain and graphic, in harmony with the nordic style. In largely abstract form, they can accommodate both stripes and floral effects. They have a natural appearance and feel, which result from the fibre yarns incorporated. Fine yarns are used for batiste-like qualities, while the coarser types supply more rustic textures, including flammé effects.

Charisma of copper

It is not easy to escape the warming effect that comes from copper. The glow of the metal may hint at opulence, but the forms generate clarity and calm. The impact is both cool and glowing, one so unusual that it almost makes one tingle.

Colours

The colours range from copper, through orange, to a light reddish and a deeper dark brown. There are also a violet and pale purple, together with highlights in pink and a pale old rose.

Designs / fabrics

Designs impress with delicate, yet appealing detail. Where they have a decorative and ornamental touch, it is achieved with a light use of filigree. Fabrics can be elegant, like satin or taffeta for instance, with a slight lustre, or fleecy, like velour. Jacquard designs play an essential part here.

Blue Balance

Every imaginable blue can be seen in the depths of water that is so transparent one can only guess at the basic shapes it holds. This adds to the fascination of the interplay of colour. Remarkably, even the turbulent waters retain their intensity and sense of balance.

Colours

Blue in all its nuances dominates the theme. A pastel and a smoke blue drift into a bluish violet, a denim and a cobalt blue. The most varied range of turquoise hues round off the palette of blues.

Designs / fabrics

False-plain effects are prominent, with a restrained use of stripes or graphic detail. Decorative motifs seem for the most part abstract in nature. Fabrics can vary from soft and flowing, to even grainy and felt-like. Bright yarns create further highlights.
