The narrow fabric days 2006 at Jakob Müller AG in Frick, Switzerland - a weekend full of highlights

 

During the weekend of September 16-17, customers and friends of Jakob Müller AG from a remarkable 49 countries participated in the NARROW FABRIC DAYS 2006 at Frick. What’s more, due to an extremely attractive programme, attendee numbers reached more than twice the expected figure! 6th Narrow Fabrics Conference

The theme of this year’s conference was “The value added chain in the narrow fabrics industry” and eleven experts presented the latest information concerning everything from value added management, raw materials and finishing, to intelligent products. In addition, an insight was provided into developments in the narrow fabrics industry in the coming decade. 

Opening of the Jakob Müller Museum

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Jakob Müller Museum documents the past 200 years of industrial history in the ribbons and narrow fabrics sector with no less than 51 exhibits, of which over twenty consist of operational weaving and knitting machines. The museum is the largest of its kind in the world.

With their presentations, “The past 200 years in the ribbons and narrow fabrics industry” and  “A look at the future of the ribbons and narrow fabrics industry”, Prof. Urs Meyer and Christian Kuoni provided an overview of both the past and, above all, the future of the branch, with its immeasurable diversity.

MÜBOOK Vol.2 “Narrow Fabric Needle Loom Technology” - book launch

The new, specialist work, “Narrow fabric needle loom technology” contains some 300 pages of detailed know-how regarding woven narrow fabrics. The book is divided into three sections comprising of machine technology, textile technical calculations and weaving theory. Due to its systematic structure, the book is ideal as both a teaching aid and a work of reference. 

State of the art in the narrow fabrics industry

In its showrooms in Frick and Breitenbach, Jakob Müller AG provided a representative cross-section from its current supply programme, extending from warping to the make-up of the finished products.
 
 

 

 

 

 

 

New machines from every segment were on display. These included the NF …ds, which uses a completely new technology for the production of velvet ribbons with pile on both sides, the NF80 2/310 for the manufacture of elastic and non-elastic products with widths of up to 300 mm, the MDR42 M24 with electronic picot device and electronic warp guide bars, the MBJL2S GS for fan scarves with mechanical cut edges and bonding by means of melt threads, the new generation of LCFR2 label cutting and folding machines, as well as a range of innovations in the finishing and make-up sectors.
