ITAF 2007 Indonesia Textile & Apparel Fair
ITAF 2006 which was held in Jakarta from 21–24 September 2006, was attended by 110 participants from 5 countries and visited by 13,000 visitors and buyers from 27 countries.
The Indonesia Fashion Week, as the center-piece of this event, has drawn around 20 of the most well-known Indonesia’s fashion designers that presenting their latest trends, whilst a series of seminar are also another attraction for the people in the related industries to attend the event.
The 2nd ITAF will be held on 6-9 September 2007 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Indonesia.

ITAF 2007 is expected to showcases over 200 labels and brands of premium items, designers’ collections, as well as various lifestyle products and fashion accessories, ranging from apparel, handbags, shoes, watches and fashion jewelry. Besides, many related industries such as machinery and spare parts of the garment machinery as well as manufacturers of fiber, spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, garment and other textile products have confirmed their participation at the fair.
Indonesia is known as a world-class player of Textile and Textile’s Product. In recent 5 years, the export value of Indonesian textile and garment has reached US$7.56 Billion and targets the markets in USA, European Union, Japan and Middle East.
Besides possessing many comparative privileges in manufacturing cost, the textile and garment industries in Indonesia also possess competitive privileges. The big number of professional human resources and oriented in the quality of customer’s satisfaction, reflected in the confidence shown by the world class buyers from 220 countries which supply depended on the textile and garment industries of this country.
However, the condition that made these sectors so attractive in Indonesia is the extensive industrial structure, which integrated from the upstream to the downstream, with a very big number of production capacity. This certain condition has effected in the export and import trade, and also the domestic trade, to run in a very high level of volumes and values. In 2006, the business turnover of these sectors in Indonesia amounted to US$ 20.6 Billion, interest of suppliers and buyers from this country itself and from other countries as well. Not less then 5,000 companies get involved in these business sectors every year. From the fiber companies spinning, weaving, knitting, finishing, dyestuff/auxiliaries, testing, accessories and other related supported companies.
