The exhibition which occupies 15,000 squares meters of Singapore Expo was officially opened by Mr. S Iswaran, Minister-of-State for Trade and Industry. It was organised by Sewing Machine Traders Association (Singapore) (SMTAS) and strongly supported by Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau, The Textile & Fashion Federation (Singapore) and Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Says Mr Teo Kim Chuan, President of SMTAS, “We are extremely pleased that AAMA-TEX 2007 has attained such a high level of participation. This demonstrates the faith that industry colleagues have in the AAMA-TEX brand name. It also affirms the exhibition’s position as the leading technology showcase in the garment and textile industry in the post textile-quota era”

The Chairman of PRGMEA, Mr Ijaz A. Khokhar expresses his confidence in the AAMA-TEX brand name: “AAMA-TEX 2007 provides us with a unique opportunity for our garment manufacturers to know about the latest developments in the making of quality outfits. With Asia emerging as a major supplier of garments and apparel to the world, it is important to  cultivate and develop an awareness of the increasing demand for quality products in this competitive international market. Without this consciousness, no supplier can survive. This can be done through use of technologically advanced modern machines, and AAMA-TEX provides just such an excellent platform.”
