Texmac India 2007 - International premiere event in New Delhi serves a rapidly growing market

IMAG Internationaler Messe- und Ausstellungsdienst GmbH – the international exhibition and fair company of the Messe München Group – is organising TEXMAC INDIA 2007, 1st International Textile Machinery Exhibition, with IMAG as international organiser and Fair Design India as its Indian partner.

IMAG’s and FDI´s portfolio of trade fairs now includes a premiere event in New Delhi for the textile machinery sector.

Texmac India 2007 takes place at the Pragati Maidan trade fair centre on 17 - 20 January 2007. At India’s biggest fair centre, the organisers offer their exhibitors and visitors a first-class service and optimum infrastructure. The event is supported by a number of important Indian associations.

International  associations like ACIMIT – Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association, SWISSMEM - Swiss Textile Machinery Division and the VDMA - German Engineering Federation’s Textile Machinery Division are supporting IMAG in the development of Texmac India.

Together with its co-organiser Fair Design India, IMAG is providing textile machinery manufacturers with a platform structured to their needs. For the textile machinery sector, India is regarded as one of the most important markets worldwide, as is demonstrated by its constantly increasing exports.

In the Indian economy – which has an annual growth rate of over 7% – the textile and clothing industry plays a prominent role. This contributes 3% of gross domestic product, 14% of industrial production and 24% of all India’s exports. After agriculture, the sector is the country’s biggest employer with around 38 million wage and salary earners. Since the year 2003, textile production has increased by 33% and estimates assume a volume of US$ 85 billion by 2010. Exports of textiles and yarns amounted to around US$ 5 billion in the Indian fiscal year 2003-2004.

For the import of machinery, over 500 million Euros is already being spent each year and this trend is on the increase. For the modernisation of production facilities, investment requirements are high. This is determined by three essential factors:

  • EU and USA import quotas have been abolished since January 2005.
  • At the same time, import duties for textile machinery were reduced to 10% in India.
  • The Indian government provides investment assistance for the procurement of new machinery.

Demand for the entire product range of the textile machinery industry is constantly increasing. For international suppliers, a market with enormous growth potential is thus developing.

To open up this market, TEXMAC INDIA 2007 offers the ideal preconditions. All important producer countries of textile machinery worldwide will have the possibility of presenting themselves at their own pavilions. TEXMAC INDIA reaches the most important decision makers in the textile industry throughout India and is also aimed at visitors from the neighbouring countries. Through the integration of various specialised partners, an extended PR campaign and in combination with an attractive programme of symposia, Texmac India 2007 will be the central marketplace for textile machinery.

IMAG Internationaler Messe- und Ausstellungsdienst GmbH is the international exhibition and fair company of the Messe München International Group. IMAG’s trade fair programme numbers more than 60 events in around 20 countries.

For many years, one of its main focus has been the sector of the textile machinery industry. For this, IMAG organises numerous presentations at important international exhibition locations such as China, Mexico, India and Pakistan. IMAG has been active on the Indian market since 1962; its current portfolio of exhibitions comprises events in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. IMAG’s expertise in the Indian market and close cooperation with efficient partners in India promises an excellent start for Texmac India 2007.
