Diolen Industrial Fibers strategy well on track with new investments in latest technology and capacity expansion
Diolen Industrial Fibers is the leading European polyester yarn company with an international reputation for developing, manufacturing and selling high-tenacity polyester yarns and high-viscosity polyester chips. Diolen(r) yarns are used to strengthen a wide variety of industrial applications, such as tires, safety belts, billboards, tarpaulins, mechanical rubber goods and deep-sea mooring ropes.
Customers throughout Europe and beyond are supplied from two production plants, in the Netherlands (Emmen) and Germany (Obernburg). In addition to these plants, Diolen has its own research institute in Emmen and sales offices in Arnhem (the Netherlands) and Scottsboro (AL, USA). The company’s headquarters is located in Arnhem.
Diolen Industrial Fibers will invest several million euros in its production facility in Obernburg, Germany. This investment in new spinning lines based on proprietor-developed technology will create an additional 3,300 tons to the current annual capacity of 41,000 tons of high-tenacity polyester yarns. These new spinning lines are expected to contribute to production from mid-2007 onwards.
With these investments, Diolen Industrial Fibers is well on track with the implementation of its strategy to retain its position as one of the leading European high-tenacity polyester yarns company, and to expand its market positions.
The resulting yarn has already been successfully introduced in the marketplace, and combines low shrinkage with reliable processibility. It is especially well-suited for applications such as tarpaulins, billboards, textile roofing constructions, etc.
Mr. Eric Tierie, CEO Diolen Industrial Fibers said, “Together with the reliable quality and services Diolen Industrial Fibers offers, this is a signal that we are continuously improving our position in the market.”
