Erhardt+Leimer India Pvt. Ltd., renowned for the excellence of its products in all of India and the surrounding Asian countries, inaugurated a new factory in Sari, 25 kms from Ahmedabad, India. The Indian company is a joint venture between Erhardt+Leimer GmbH, Germany and ATE Enterprises Limited.

ATE Enterprises was established in 1978 in Odhav (India), also close to Ahmadabad. The company manufactures and markets sophisticated web guiding, web tension monitoring and web inspection technology not only for the textile industry but also for paper manufacturing, film and foil converting, the tire and rubber industries, for corrugating and the label industry.

The old factory will be closed step by step and all of the 200 employees will shortly be working in the new premises. The facility includes 4500 m² of production space and 2500 m² of office space, so there is room enough for further expansion.

This important investment has been made by the parent company in view of the booming Indian economy and of the growing exports of E+L products made in India. The high quality standing of Indian production allows certain products from the E+L product range to be manufactured exclusively in India where the same stringent quality regulations are followed as at the mother company in Germany.

ELCOUNT Pick- and Course-counter

Erhardt + Leimer GmbH now also offers the newly developed ELCOUNT automatic pick- and course-counter which provides contact-free, reliable pick and course density control owing to a newly designed charged-couple device (CCD) matrix camera with built-in circular illumination, and closed loop control owing to a newly designed feed-forward/feed-back control algorithm.

The new device offers single-sided detection and the largest detection area possible, does not require a speed reference for measurement, can provide static measurement and instant calculation, and adjusts automatically for brightness. The system functions in conjunction with the Windows® XP operating system, and offers an easy-to-use operator interface and Ethernet communication between the camera and the computer. The company also offers its customers a global technical support network.
