More than 500 companies attended the 8th Annual International Istanbul Ready-Wear Fair at TUYAP. Turkey has developed proper infrastructure for textile as its textile products are competitive withstanding cheaper, Chinese products.

Turkey holds strong position in textile sector with noticeable market share, said Vassilis Masselos, Chairman, World Ready-Wear Federation (IAF).

He said country’s textile manufacturers should identify global requirements and latest technology before making huge investment.

Turkey exported textile and confection accounting for 25% of total exports worth $20 billion.

Turkish companies are recognized across the world as they produce high-quality products at competitive prices, said State Minister Kursad Tuzmen. With a view to develop fashion industry in the country.

A fashion institution is likely to be set up in Istanbul.
