The foundation stone of the biggest ever spinning and Textile Park in the country has been laid by the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. The Southern India Mills Association from Coimbatore will set up 11 textile mills in one park with an investment of Rs. 1,400 crores while Loyola Textile Mills Limited, Chennai, will set up another park with Rs. 150 crores.

The Minister further informed that the new textile mills could provide employment avenues to more than 20000 people, in particular the local youth and assured that the Government would offer the best package for farmers whose lands would be acquired for the Special Economic Zones (SEZ).
