Fashion industry gets government funding (Singapore)
Singapore’s textile and fashion industry is to receive a three-year government funded initiative designed to increase revenues in the sector. The projects, worth S$11 million (US $6.7 million), are aimed at increasing revenue by S$400 million and creating a further S$105 million in added value. The programmes are designed to increase Singapore’s position as a fashion hub, repositioning the Singapore Fashion Week exhibition into a platform for the whole industry, while a Productivity and Design Development Centre will also be created.
