IRO Weft Technology Seminar

SHAN ASSOCIATES in coordination
with IRO arranges service seminar every consecutive year at
Lahore and Karachi. The goal is to provide technical support to
the industry, enhance technical expertise and update for the new
innovations for the Airjet and Rapier weaving solutions.
In September 2017, Shan Associates organized IRO Weft
Technology Seminar at SMA Rizvi Textile Institute Karachi and
followed by another seminar at University of Management &
Mr Stephen Summersgill focused on the current range of weft
feeders and the latest innovations in accessories including an
overview of activities of the various companies in the Van De
Wiele Group generally.
The main focus was the “hands-on” training by Mr Per-Olof
Anderberg on both air-jet and rapier feeders. This included
correct dismantling, maintenance and reassembly of the feeders,
and how to correctly set and operate IRO & ROJ feeders,
including discussions and analysis for fault-finding.
The seminar held at The University of Management & Technology
(UMT) in Lahore was attended by leading industry professionals.
The welcome speech by the Dean of UMT, Professor Mumtaz Hasan
Malik, highlighted the history of Pakistan’s textile industry
and the tremendous future potential. Muhammad Nusrat Ali
Chishti from the UK Textile Institute also spoke during the
seminar followed by the concluding remarks by Professor Syed
Mahfooz Qutab, Chairman of the Lahore Section of the UK Textile
The seminar was attended by more than 175 participants in
Lahore and Karachi. Leading professional from weaving industry,
such as Diamond Fabrics, Azgard 9, Reliance Weaving, Shahtaj
Textile, Sapphire Textile, Nishat Mills Ltd., Samin Textile, BB
Jan, Yousaf Weaving, US Denim, Prosperity Weaving, Blessed
Weaving, Fazal Cloth, Naveena Exports and Colony Textile from
Lahore attended the seminar. Similarly, leaders from Karachi,
such as Artistic Milliners, Soorty Enterprises, Kassim Denim,
Mekotex, Yunus Textile Mills, Feroze1888, Naveena Industries,
Orient Textile Mills, Artistic Fabric Mills, Rajby Textiles,
Union Fabric, United Towel, Lucky Textile, Indigo Denim and
Naveena Exports were represented at the event.
The new Chrono X3 is latest, most innovative and versatile
product incorporating new developments such as the “M-Flex” and
improved accessibility for connecting powered accessories.

interface control box.
Stella G2 provides perfect speed regulation with low power
consumption thanks to the new mechanical sensor system used in
conjunction with permanent magnet motor technology. Furthermore,
quick release and easily accessible yarn tension adjustment for
easy handling are included as standard.
