Source It - An ASEAN Event in Shanghai

Source It - a speciality event for ASEAN member countries was staged at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics. The event ran 29 October -1 November 2007 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai, with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2007.

Nearly 20 suppliers from six countries attended and displayed the full production line from fabrics to apparel. Source It exhibitors came from Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam and were organized in association with trade bodies from the member nations. Representatives from the trade organizations also praised the event.

"I have been a supporter of Source It for many years and I think that it was a good decision to move the show to Shanghai as most of our target international visitors have buying houses in Shanghai," said Mr. Andrew Hong, Executive Director of the Malaysian Textile Manufacturers Association. "The show has a very good track record. Source It attracts many good quality visitors and we have encountered some serious enquires. The textile industry will start to shift in the next few years and more companies will start to look towards ASEAN countries to do business with as well as China."

Visitors were also pleased with Source It. "You can see what these countries have to offer in terms of garments," said trade buyer Amorn Sachder, based in Thailand. "I think they should do more of this."
