Oerlikon Neumag
Revolutionary BCF Carpet Yarn Technology
Sytec One is the latest innovation in BCF technology by
Oerlikon Neumag: BCF carpet yarn production with only one yarn
end per position. Thus, each produced yarn has its own spinning
pump, one quench cabinet, own godets, one texturing unit, one
cooling drum and its own single end winder. And nearly all
components have been adapted or newly developed in respect of
the specific demands of a single end process in order to exploit
the full potential this new technology.

Sytec One leads to a signifcant increase of production
capacity, efficiency and availability compared to traditional
machine concepts with 2,3,4 or 6 ends per position.
Based on the perfect yarn path of the single end process and
the new developed and designed components of the machine,
significantly higher process speeds can be reached which results
in a much higher output per end between 10 and 40 percent. The
waste rate can be reduced under 1% with a higher output.
New dimensions in Staple Fiber Production
Oerlikon Neumag presented its new concept for staple fiber
production which is applicable for production lines from 100 up
to 400 tons per day. With this concept, the production costs per
kilogram of produced fibers as well as the investment costs per
ton of capacity have been significantly reduced for all plant
sizes in the mentioned range.
Autefa Baling Technology, market leader in the field
of fully automatic bale packing systems for staple fiber and
tow, will launch two new baling presses. The new Nonstop baler
750 / 1500 is a further developed and modernised version of
Autefa’s proven and tested Nonstop 280 / 282 baler series. This
new baler is conceived for continuous bale production, suitable
for non-siliconised, siliconised, man-made as well as natural
staple fiber. I
Autefa’s new continuous horizontal baler CB 400 / CB 750 with
fully automatic strapping device is designed for the compression
of large material capacities with low labour and maintenance
costs.

Oerlikon Saurer
The newly created BU Oerlikon Saurer consists of the two
sectors of twisting systems and embroidery systems, strengthens
its worldwide leader position with trend-setting innovations in
the twisting and embroidery sectors.
Twisting systems: The market segments of tire cord,
technical yarns and fancy yarns are well covered by Allma’s
leading product line. The Volkmann product line is successful in
the market segments of staple fiber yarns, glass filament yarns
and carpet yarns.
Embroidery systems: Saurer and Melco have for many
years been the leading suppliers of shuttle embroidery machines
respectively multi-head embroidery machines.
The innovations in the twisting and embroidery sector
are given as under:

Allma ECP 1 fancy yarn machine ECP 1 from the Allma,
with its technological subtleties and unbeatable
price/performance ratio, offers countless market advantages and
opportunities. The Allma ECP 1 scores with regard to investment
costs and productivity, with up to 50% lower manufacturing costs
than competitors, short downtimes and greater efficiency.
Volkmann CarpetCabler 8.05 was further developed as a
result of customers suggestions and brand-new technologies.
Volkmann CarpetCablers 8.05 is more efficient thanks to the new
monitoring unit with a central, electronic control system and
the SmartCreel.
Saurer WinPro is the latest innovation in long
staple spinning with WinSpin the spinning machine, and WinTwist
the twisting machine.
The WinSpin produces 2-fold to 4-fold yarns at up to 250
m/min on each of its 56 spinning positions. This means up to
40-fold production per spinning position, 80% less work in
progress, and a reduction in delivery time of up to a week
compared to ring spinning.

Together with the speed of the machine and the process,
another factor is flexibility. Three different batches can be
processed simultaneously. Short ba tches increase the flexibility
even more.
During the spinning process, up to 6 different yarn
components can be fed simultaneously: up to four rovings out of
different raw materials, counts or colours and optionally up to
two elastic or non-elastic filaments. Quality losses due to elastane breakages are now a thing of the past.
Saurer Epoca 05: With its modular system, the shuttle
embroidery machine revolutionizes the two-carriage technique.
Both creels move completely independently of one another.
The principle is a completely electronic connection of the
carriages and is based on one single intelligent control system
for both carriages. This ensures in every case that the right
position is reached. Only the pattern has to be identical for
both carriages. Material, yarns or setting parameters can be
different.

FastSpan: all the embroidery machines are equipped
with the material tensioning system FastSpan. This system makes
it possible to switch with a shaft between all the standard
material tensioning systems without major re-fitting. In
addition, the material can be fixed faster and more easily with
the integrated drawing process, comparable to a sail. After the
draft, the new material is automatically drawn in, cut to length
or as a multiple of the machine length. The result is more
economy and advantages in further processing.
Laser option: Oerlikon Saurer exclusively offers an
integrated laser cutting and engraving option. Punching is
comparable to the embroidery process, the design data are stored
in a file, so changes can be carried out very simply.
Saurer PitStop offers consistent shuttle quality and
great efficiency. For auxiliary machines, the Saurer product
line is exhibiting the PitStop, a much tried and proven machine
which empties, fills and aligns shuttles completely
automatically.
For this, the shuttles do not need to be presented in an
arranged fashion, they can just be tipped from the normal
collectors into the device on the machine. Using the PitStop
produces an excellent, homogeneous shuttle tension. In high wage
countries, customers can also be sure of enormous cost savings
thanks to lower wage costs. This is an important contributing
factor to an improved operating result.
