ORTEKS 2008

ORTEKS 2008 - Gaziantep Textile Apparel, Carpet Machinery, Supply Industry and Accessories Fair will be held between 16-19 April 2008 in Gaziantep – Turkey. The show is organized by Forza Fairs and Organization Services Co. Inc. in cooperation with Gaziantep Chamber of Industry and Forum Fairs and Promotions Co. Inc.

The demand for the textile machinery has been increasing in such countries like Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Iran, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The textile producers are focusing on investments to renew their production lines with the high-technology machinery and multiply their production capacity as a result of the increase in the demand for their products from the world and the international competition in the sector.

Today, Türkiye with its strong competitiveness in quality, technology, and production capacity, is among the most important machinery producer and supplier in the world.

ORTEKS 08 is going to provide the opportunity for the textile and carpet machinery producers around the world to meet the representatives of the sector in the Middle East.

Gaziantep and Textile industry

In Gaziantep, more than 56% of the large enterprises is engaged in textile sector. Gaziantep textile sector has obtained the competition advantage after being specialized in machine-made carpet and thread fields. Furthermore, this sector has significant shares in the total manufacturing capacity of Türkiye with the technical textile products developing within the last five years and machine-knit fabric, woven products, sack, blanket, fancy yarn fields.

While the textile is the most exchange-generative sector in Gaziantep, it provided 69% of the exportation of the Province in 2006.

Gaziantep has the largest and the most advanced machine-made carpet production facilities of the world and realizes 80% of the carpet production of Türkiye with its 200 million m2 annual production capacity and its % 5 share in the world’s carpet market.
