BASF combines global management and regional expertise

Under the motto “think global – act local,” BASF has restructured its Leather and Textile Chemicals businesses. Both businesses are now combined under one global organization, but they will continue to be driven separately based on the individual market requirements.

Following extensive restructuring in recent years, efficient production and development centers for BASF’s leather and textiles chemicals provide customized solutions worldwide. “We have been improving our structures in the two businesses, and customers can now benefit from the global management combined with a strong regional presence,” states Dr. Reinhard Leppkes, head of the Global Business Unit Performance Chemicals for Leather and Textiles. “Furthermore, we will continue working closely with customers to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for the leather and textile industries,” explains Leppkes.

As of January 2008, the new global headquarters will be established in Singapore.
