Yarn Expo Autumn 2007 - an ideal sourcing destination for fibres and yarns in Shanghai

Exhibitors from eight countries and regions have so far signed up to join the newly independent speciality trade fair Yarn Expo Autumn. The show, running 29 - 31 October 2007 at the Shanghai International Convention Centre, is a unique fair for apparel fabric yarn and fibre makers that brings fabric manufacturers in direct contact with sourcing opportunities.

After two successful years accompanying the apparel fabric trade event Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Yarn Expo Autumn will be launched this year as an independent show with a new venue.

The show is a golden opportunity for fabric manufacturers from the Shanghai area as well as hundreds of others attending Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics to meet their suppliers. "The best feature this year is the separate venue," says Mr Ravi N. Ravindranathan, Deputy Director of Texprocil, the Indian government-sponsored Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, a long-time participant at Yarn Expo.

As the largest textile and apparel producer in the world, China has heavy demands for yarns and fibres, creating a ripe opportunity for suppliers in these industries.

The Vice President, Mr Kamal Mittal from GTN Industries from India said,"Our last experience at the show was quite fruitful. We met some good buyers with whom business has been materialised. This time we would like to promote our products in both Chinese as well as International markets.

“The company will feature a wide array of cotton yarns including combed cotton, organic and Fair Trade cottons, grey and dyed knitted fabrics and gassed mercerised yarn.

STI India is also targeting both Chinese and international buyers, said representative Mr Vivek Loiwal. The company will feature natural and blended yarns including combed hosiery, combed single jersey fabrics, organic and Fair Trade cotton yarns.

From Singapore, Kaybee, will feature polyester, viscose and nylon yarns. The company also produces a range of fancy yarns. The benefit of a niche event such as Yarn Expo, says Mr Sandeep Goel, Senior General Manager of Kaybee-Singapore, is the direct contact with good buyers and we have found customers and suppliers from this fair."
