Proposte, the well-established world preview of furnishing fabrics and curtains made in Europe, since its debut in 1993, has always been a melting pot for innovative textiles. This year in particular, the focus is on the suggestive stylistic exchange between clothing and furnishing textiles, as well as on the use of raw materials and processing technology backed by state-of-the-art machinery and equipment. Among the topics to be addressed, the upcoming press conference (May 10 at 11.30, on the first floor of the Villa Antica) the stressed need to produce textiles capable to satisfy the audacity of the ultra-sophisticated buildings as they are springing up in different areas around the globe, under the classification of new architecture of current times.

Supertextiles

According to Proposte,“We have included these textiles in the limelight and called them supertextiles. Despite the fact that not all companies have undertaken this rising path, nevertheless they are almost all aware that this is a one-way trip without stopovers. Supertextiles, as they were listed in the brochure, give evidence of their creativity and beauty content. Moreover, because they are safe textiles, they can be used for the contract sector as well as for ever-more demanding residential applications This is the reason why textiles must withstand tear, abrasion, dirt, water, fire, deformation, bacteria, electromagnetic waves, they must be resilient, shading, screening, UV filtering, thermoregulating, phonoabsorbing.

New exhibitors at Proposte 2007

Given the rational assignment of the exhibiting surface area, 9 new exhibitors are admitted, as their production, structure and corporate philosophy meet the requirements for admittance. The new entrants are Engelbert E. Stieger AG (CH), Fratelli Bologna & Marcaccio Srl (1T), Giuseppe De Negri & C Srl (IT), Gustavo De Negri & ZA.MA. Srl (IT), Nelen & Delbeke NV (BE), Olmetto Spa (IT), Swinkels Textiles NV (BE), Tesseci Srl (IT) and Yute’s- Natural Fabrics SL (ES). The exhibiting companies at Proposte 2007 will now account for 10756 from Italy and 51 from abroad are expected to showcase their new fabrics and other products.
