Polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT), which is one of the important new materials developed by Chinese textile industry in ‘11th 5-year Plan’, helps to make fibre and fabric more soft, elastic, anti-static, and durable.

In recent years, Chinese textile industry has established itself in the international arena by adopting latest techniques and innovation. Global oil magnates like Shell Group has shifted PTT fibre and textiles centre to China.

With the support of Shell Group, some big Chinese enterprises have achieved great progress. For instance Jiangsu Jiangnan High Polymer Fiber Co Ltd has recorded healthy PTT short fibre sales both in domestic and overseas markets. Besides, other locally manufactured PTT products have successfully entered Middle East, EU and other countries. Reportedly, many related Chinese enterprises have collaborated with Shell to develop new high-technique products. Some products like wool worsted fabric, leisure machine-weave fabric; PTT memory fabric and seamless underwear are attracting significant number of local and international consumers.
