Dyes & Chemcials BASF BASF and Sawgrass Technologies cooperate in the digital market Sawgrass Technologies Inc., the U.S.-based developer of digital transfer inks and BASF, have reached a comprehensive settlement of the patent litigation between the two parties. BASF will take a product license under the Sawgrass patents. "We at BASF are pleased to enter into a license agreement with Sawgrass that opens new business opportunities for our BafixanÒ dye sublimation inks on a worldwide basis. This license allows our customers around the globe to enjoy the benefits of our innovative dye sublimation Technologies, said Juergen Weiser, head of BASF Global Business Management for Ink Jet Inks. Nathan Hale, CEO of Sawgrass Technologies, stated, "We are delighted to enter into a new era of cooperation with BASF, which is a world leader in providing solutions for textile and industrial applications around the world. To have the opportunity to further develop the sublimation ink market with one of the premier companies in the textile field is our good fortune, indeed." Hale added, "We believe that the joint efforts of BASF and Sawgrass to develop the worldwide digital sublimation transfer market will blend important strengths of both companies that will help provide an exciting range of new digital solutions." Ciba® TERASIL® WW disperse dyes create a new state of the art in polyester coloration. The new dyes have exceptionally high wash fastness at all temperatures on all polyester fibres, including microfibres, and their blends with cotton, making them compatible with washing habits and wash fastness standards all over the world. The high wash fastness achieved by TERASIL WW dyes was previously only attainable in disperse dyeing with some red dyes and only at very high cost. TERASIL WW dyes cover a broad shade spectrum and they are cost effective. "TERASIL WW dyes add value throughout the textile processing chain," says Christoph Biedermann, global head of Textile Effects Segment. "For the large international brands, high wash fastness under the various washing conditions encountered around the world enhances brand value and quality assurance, as well as facilitating logistics. For the dyer, simple application and excellent wash fastness properties ensure efficiency and economy; the designer can exploit the versatility of the range, which provides wide scope for exciting new shade variations and combinations; and the end user benefits from colors that last and don't stain other fabrics in the wash." With their high wash fastness, TERASIL WW dyes are especially suitable for outlets such as work, sports and leisurewear, including garments worn next to the skin. TEXTILCOLOUR AG Fixing and after soaping agent Special high-molecular compound, anionic. TC-Fix and Wash RF is a special alkaline buffering system for fixing and soaping reactive dyeings. The product causes a slow fixation of the dyestuff and furthermore is promoting the levelness and the colour yield. Owing to the high degree of fixation and the good dispersing capacity in soaping, optimal fastnesses are achieved. TC-Fix and Wash RF is suitable for dyeings with reactive dyestuffs by the exhaust and the cold pad batch method. Levelling agent Preparation of aromatic esters and surfactants, anionic. Concentrated, very good migrating and levelling agent with diffusion accelerating effect to dye polyester under high temperature conditions. Alviron PWE supports the migrating ability of the dyestuffs in the HT-phase and thus contributes to achieving level dyeings. Alviron PWE is free of phthalates and alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO). The dye penetration of closely woven materials as well as wound packages with high package density is improved. The diffusion accelerating effect or Alviron PWE promotes an optimal dyestuff yield. Machine Cleaner Specially modified fatty amine ethoxylates, solvent-free, cationic. Highly effective special products for cleaning textile machines and printing machines as well as machine parts, feed tanks and pipe systems gently. Tecoclean MR does not affect rubber, machine parts and lacquers. It can be handled and stored easily. With its very high dissolving, dispersing and emulsifying capacity no additional washing, dissolving and emulsifying agents are necessary because they deteriorate the cleaning effect. However, the cleaning effect can be increased by adding lye and reducing agents. Tecoclean MR is highly foaming, therefore it can clean parts which are not easily accessible.
