Energy efficiency report for Chinese
weavers
Energy efficiency is one of the highest
priorities for weavers when buying new weaving machines. In the
month of May Picanol launched a large-scale campaign to
challenge weavers in the Chinese market to see for themselves
how much they could be saving on energy costs.
All they have to do is fill in a few
details about their current machinery and usage on the dedicated
website www.picanol.com.cn/energychallenge. In just a few
moments the website calculates just how much more the weaver
could be getting out of his energy. In most cases savings on
energy costs of up to 20% or more are to be expected.
Weavers who have filled in the form on
www.picanol.com.cn/energychallenge can collect a personalized
report on the Picanol stand at ITMA Asia + CITME 2008. The
report contains the results of the calculations and a set of
guidelines for the weaver to get the most out of his energy,
personalized to his own machine configuration and machine usage.
In this way, Picanol want to assists its Chinese customers to
get the most out of their energy.
Energy efficiency really affects the
bottom line
Recent independent market research has
concluded that the majority of weavers rank energy consumption
among the top five criteria when buying a new weaving machine.
Around 74% of those surveyed found
electricity costs related to machine operation and air
compression to be the most important external cost factors when
evaluating the efficiency of their installed machines. 76%
regard energy costs as the single major challenge with respect
to cost control over the next 5 years.
Picanol’s customers understand all too well
that energy efficiency really affects the bottom line of their
business, and it is one of their main concerns when looking for
new machines. Equally, it is of great concern to Picanol when
designing them.
