ITMA ASIA +CITME Preview II

GROB and Groz-Beckert will again pursue a combined exhibition

Asia’s new exhibition devoted to textile machinery and textile production has generated enormous interest. After a successful combined appearance at ITMA 2007 in Munich, GROB will for the first time introduce itself to Asian markets as an integrated firm within the Groz-Beckert Group, all divisions of the Groz-Beckert Group will exhibit in one booth. Naturally, this includes GROB – as the recognized specialist for the international weaving industry. The Groz-Beckert Group will be located in Hall E4 at Booth B01 with a booth area of 700 m2 providing homogenous space for its respective divisions.

The consistently positive reactions to the combined booth in Munich should also be confirmed outside of Europe. In Shanghai, OEM’s as well as established and potential textile industry end users will learn how GROB and Groz-Beckert manage sustainable value-added through the practical utilization of synergies.

The Groz-Beckert Group will be located in Hall E4 at Booth B01 with a booth area of 700 m2. In addition to GROB’s portfolio dedicated to weaving, other diverse range of products for knitting, felting, tufting or sewing will also be introduced.

Specific requirements

GROB and Groz-Beckert are completely conscious of the central importance of Asia for textile production. Maximum cost effectiveness with quickest availability the primary considerations. Far-reaching potential is not restricted to the Chinese market.

Countries such as India; Pakistan; Vietnam; and Bangladesh are becoming increasingly important within the weaving industry. The ongoing evolution of the industry obviously presents numerous challenges. Clearly, GROB always reacts as quickly as possible to the changing market requirements. Improved delivery lead times have already been realized. Additionally, the assembly for some of the products is now done at their Japanese location, providing noticeable advantages with regard to logistics and delivery times.

Appropriate product range

“Today’s dreams can be tomorrow’s products”. Also at ITMA Asia + CITME 2008, the exhibition motto of GROB and Groz-Beckert represents a visionary image. Among the products that will be presented at the exhibition, there will be numerous innovative ideas. For example, various products facilitate the production of fabrics for lamination and subsequent fabrication into aerospace uniforms, making humans able to function in weightless environments. As the advertising message conveys, “Astronauts will be able to discover new worlds in the near future.”

However, apart from visions and unrealized impulses, visitors can expect much at the combined booth of GROB and Groz-Beckert. Because extensive range of weaving machine accessories – from healds and heald frames to warp stop motions and drop wires importantly contains numerous products especially developed and designed for Asia.

Products of particular interest are  positively controlled leno system as well as customized heald frames dimensionality, delivering an optimum of price and performance benefit.

More information and technical details on these efficient “combinations” as well as about numerous other high performance products will available to visitors and interested parties directly during ITMA Asia + CITME 2008 in Shanghai in July 2008.

GROBEXTRA® ALbasic® - The new heald frame for rapier weaving machines

With the new ALbasic heald frame, GROB has optimized technical and product cost parameters. The heald frames utilize heald-carrying rods 16 x 2.1 mm for healds with J-shaped end loops and are applicable on rapier weaving machines with reed widths to 230 cm.

The frame staves of quality light metal have the standard dimension of 120/9 mm, providing for compatibility with most weaving machines.

New is the glued fixation of the heald carrying rod to the frame stave and a corner connection design that absorbs the stress of the rotational moment of the frame stave and minimizes lateral support deformation during shed changes.

ALbasic heald frames are suitable for all existing automatic drawing-in machines and are designed for easy handling to insure fast and economical warp preparation.

Cost-effective ALbasic heald frames utilize T-shaped lateral supports of steel with a 7.8 mm wide guiding surface.

easyfix® - The alternative riderless heald frame

easyfix incorporates all advantages of riderless heald frames with the handling characteristics of the slider system.

v     Reduced machine downtime for warp changes, facilitating high weaving efficiency.

v     No lateral heald displacement by slide hooks, eliminating warp streaks in the fabric.

v     Minimized levels of off-quality fabrics.

v     Universal applicability in all weaving machines with reed widths to 230 cm.

v     Stability at highest operating speeds due to solid construction.

v     Elimination of replacement component costs associated with slider heald frames.

The advantages of the riderless technology can be realized with easyfix without weaving machine modification. The conversion investment is completed with the acquisition of the heald frames and healds. An investment in easyfix heald frames is quickly amortized due to timesavings at warp change, increased production of first-quality fabrics, and reduced replacement component costs.

PosiLeno® - Positively Controlled Leno System

The revolutionary development for the manufacture of leno fabrics. Its outstanding characteristics include:

v     100 % higher production speeds on existing weaving machines.

v     Infinite patterning possibilities with leno binding over a wide range of different warp yarns.

v     Reliable binding through positively controlled doup frame.

v     Simple, fast, and cost-effective article change.

v     Optimized shed formation movements insure highest fabric quality while minimizing stresses on warp yarns, heald frames and leno healds GROB’s positively controlled leno system is applicable to all fabrics constructions with leno binding – technical fabrics, home textiles, or clothing.

The system is applicable to both the upper / lower shed leno technique and the upper shed leno technique with fixed auxiliary frame. The new leno assembly consists of two lifting frames and one positively controlled doup frame equipped with leno heddles that have been optimized in their design. Movement of the lifting frames controlled by either a dobby or a cam shedding motion drives the positively controlled driving element of the doup frame.

By means two pairs of specially designed driving levers and articulated connections, lifting frame movement generates an optimized movement of the doup frame and leno healds.

Previous requirements for hardware for the upper or lower connection of leno springs and leno yokes are eliminated. The specialists from the company will be present during the show to offer individual suggestions for new or existing weaving machines. The patent for GROB’s positively controlled leno system is pending.

GROB – Expert partner for technical weaving

The diversity in design and application of technical fabrics has significantly increased in recent years. GROB provides optimized heald alternative and compatible heald frames for the weaving of the most diverse warp yarns.

1.         Healds for metal, glass, filter and heavy fabrics.

2.         RONDOFIL twin wire healds for coarse warp yarns.

3.         TWINtec for the weaving of carbon fiber, aramid, and glass tapes.

4.         Healds for the manufacture of leno fabrics.u
