Motexha
Exhibition highlights textile sector of Middle East
According to recent reports, the textile
industry in the MENA (Middle East & North Africa) region is
expected to grow by 8% annually and reach US$ 65 billion by
2010. Textile manufacturers and traders have expressed strong
optimism towards continued growth of the regional textile
industry and the exceptional opportunities it offers at the
recent Motexha exhibition in Dubai.
Motexha is considered as Middle East's
largest Garments, Textiles, Leather and Fashion Accessories
Exhibition for developing brand's presence in the Middle East's
rapidly growing clothing and fashion markets.
In recent years, Dubai has enjoyed steady
growth in textile imports and re-exports. Dubai's textile
imports from industry giants from all over the world whereas its
re-export destinations include more than 50 countries in Africa,
the Middle East, South Asia and Europe. Dubai Textile City
is expected to start its operations this year, is a US$ 82
million set up and aims to further revolutionize the textile
trade in the UAE and in future will make Dubai a textile hub of
the region.
Motexha has served as a sourcing platform
for the Middle Eastern markets for 31 years and the recently
concluded 2008 edition of the event once again brought together
region’s leading buyers, brand franchises, traders, wholesalers,
retailers and re-exporters. The next edition of Motexha is going
to be held from 7th to 9th April 2009. |
