NSC Nonwoven: Thrace plastics group further
expand with a new Geotextile line in the USA
THRACE LINQ, a 100% subsidiary of the THRACE
PLASTICS GROUP, just placed an order for a new needling line to
increase its production capacity aiming at further expanding in the US
market.
Early 2007, THRACE PLASTICS, commissioned
successfully a non-woven geotextile line supplied by NSC nonwoven (Asselin-Thibeau)
for its facilities in Greece.
In May 2007, THRACE LINQ, a 100% subsidiary of
the THRACE PLASTICS GROUP proceeded with the acquisition of the agro
and geo divisions of LINQ, a long established geotextile producer in
South Carolina, USA.T
THRACE LINQ has the ambition of quickly develop
its sales in the US market by taking advantage of the competitive
edges provided by the latest process and technology innovations part
of the NSC nonwoven equipment.
The 2007 needle punching line at the Thrace Greek
facilities in Xanthi, Northern Greece has been demonstrating the
ability of the NSC’s equipment to make outstanding fabrics in strength
performances and weight uniformity.
The 2008 THRACE LINQ new line will have a
capacity in excess of 7000 tons/year and will feature innovations like
Excelle card, ProDyn®, Ouat!sys. Further innovation developments will
also be part of the delivery.
These technologies allow the production of light
and medium nonwoven fabrics at outstanding high production speeds,
with excellent tensile strength properties where conventional
technologies would compromise fabric evenness and productivity.
The NSC equipment will feature a highly
elaborated SCADA system, with the “Expert Supervision”version.
Together with the unique design of the Excelle® card, it will enable
THRACE LINQ to shift quickly from product to product increasing the
productivity of the whole line as well as ensuring a consistent fabric
quality.
NSC nonwoven designs and manufactures integrated
production lines which produce textile fabrics in a continuous
process. Nonwovens are products that lend themselves to a multitude of
constantly changing applications. NSC nonwoven represents a major part
of the NSC Group's business. Research and development are the focus of
ongoing efforts. NSC Nonwoven will be present at INDEX Geneva at Stand
