Century Textiles from
India chooses Barcovision
Century Textiles Ltd., India's leading producer
of shirting, suiting and denim fabric, has purchased the complete
BarcoVision integrated Manufacturing Execution System for its newly
built BIRLA CENTURY plant in Jagadia, Gujarat, India. The BarcoVision
MES systems will allow BIRLA CENTURY Ltd. to optimize its production
cycle.
The system will be installed connecting the
spinning department, the warp preparation department, the weaving
machines, the finishing machines, the dye house and the inspection
department. Yarn inventory software will handle the movement of yarns
through the plant and traceability software will allow a complete
tracing of each fabric roll produced in the mill. In total, more than
700 production machines will be monitored by the system.
In the spinning department the company will make
use of SPINMASTER and MILLMASTER software to monitor the daily yarn
production and monitor quality through the use of LOEPFE ZENIT yarn
clearers on the winding machines.
The system will be installed using BarcoVision’s
wireless technology in the spinning, weaving, finishing and inspection
departments, driven by the SPINMASTER, WEAVEMASTER and QUALIMASTER
software. In the dye house a fully integrated SEDOMASTER/COLORMASTER
will be installed. All yarn dyeing machines are equipped with the
latest SM2500 controllers based on OPC server technology allowing
Ethernet based networking with the SEDOMASTER central system.
This investment in systems is a result of a
longstanding relationship between Century and BarcoVision. The group
has invested in systems in the early nineties for the denim operation
in Satrati near Indore. After several expansions of this denim plant,
also with BarcoVision equipment, the management of Century Mills has
decided to use BarcoVision’s latest technology for production
monitoring, planning and quality control, in their new projects such
as the Jagadia plant.
BarcoVision has been chosen yet again by
Century group of companies, and has been expanding its reference list
amongst leading Indian manufacturers such as Arvind Mills, Raymond
Textiles, Raymond-Zambaitti, Maral Overseas, Himatsingka Seide,
Prathiba Syntex, etc.
