| Chinese home textiles show robust
growth
China's ten major home textile production bases
present a sound performance in 2007, with total profits hitting
US$1.077 billion, rising 25.17% over the previous year, according to
the China Home Textile Association.
The ten home textile production bases generated
152.136 billion yuan of industrial output value, an increase of 21.07%
cent year on year.
The ten bases are in Tongzhou City and Haimen
Industry Zone of east China's Jiangsu province, Wendeng and Gaomi
cities of east China's Shandong province, and Yuhang, Xiaoshan, Xucun
of Haining, Dama Town of Tongxiang, Yiwu and Youchegang Town of
Jiaxing in east China's Zhejiang province.
China's domestic demand for home textile products
expanded last year, while exports slowed down. The country's export
value of home textile products dropped four percentage points last
year as compared with the growth in the previous year, but is up more
than 16% more from that of 2005.
Stimulated by strong demand on the domestic
market, the output value of the home textile industry still achieved
more than 20% growth in 2007.
