Shanghai Home Textiles
Intertextile Shanghai
Home Textiles breaks the 100,000 sqm mark for the first time -
with 103,500 sqm booked for the next event, 26 - 28 August 2008
at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Shanghai,
China. The event is an enormous product showcase for bedding,
bath, table and kitchen linens, wall and window decorations,
upholstery fabric, interior design and more.

To showcase products
more effectively, the show is organized with international
suppliers in the main hall divided by product group. A new
feature for 2008 will be a special Bedding and Toweling Zone in
Hall W1, dedicated to international bedding manufacturers
targeting Chinese buyers.
In 2007, more than
30,000 buyers attended Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles from
105 countries and regions, including: wholesalers (29%);
importer/exporters (27%); interior design agencies (16%); and
retailers (12%). Most visitors hailed from the five top
importing cities in China, which together import 80% of the home
textiles in China.
Market momentum
in China's home textiles
Growth in
China's home textile industry - imports and exports - is gaining
momentum, creating an enormous opportunity for home textile
suppliers. Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles helps suppliers
enter this booming market.
Home
textiles are China's fastest growing textile consumer category
and imports of these products are on the rise, particularly
high-quality bed linen and blankets, kitchen linen, curtains,
towels and other decorative products. China's home textile
exports are also increasing - bed linens, kitchen linens and
blankets by 40% in 2006 and towel products by 20%. In addition
to China's traditional export markets - the EU, USA and Japan -
exports are rising to Australia, Russia, Latin America,
Kazakhstan, Morocco, Egypt and South Africa.
Intertextile Shanghai
Home Textiles reflects the growing sophistication in China's
home textile market. Consumers want higher quality products with
creative and fresh design. The show will focus on textile design
with a special Designer's Studio and a complete range of trend
and industry seminars to help participants stay abreast of the
latest styles.
